Privacy Policy

Effective: July 3, 2026 · Last updated: July 7, 2026

1. Who we are. Northline is operated by Synthemo. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have. Contact: synthemo.com.

2. What we collect.

3. How we use it. To operate the Service (generating persona responses requires processing your messages), to enforce safety and acceptable-use boundaries, and to fix and improve the Service. We do not show ads, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers. Generating responses requires sending conversation data to the third-party providers that power the Service: a large-language-model provider, a voice-synthesis provider, a speech-to-text provider (voice mode), a GPU inference provider (video generation), and our database, storage, and hosting providers. These providers process data on our behalf and retain it according to their own policies; we choose providers with standard commercial data-protection terms.

5. Memory. Persona memory is off by default and opt-in — nothing is remembered across conversations unless you turn it on in Settings. When enabled:

6. Deletion and retention. When you delete a conversation, it is deleted immediately and permanently from our systems — the conversation, its turns, and its generated media are removed in the same operation. Honest caveats: our database keeps short-window backups that age out automatically; in rare failure cases a stored media file may briefly outlive its deleted conversation before cleanup; and service providers (section 4) retain data per their own policies. We retain account data while your account is active. To delete your account entirely, contact us via synthemo.com and we will process the request.

7. California privacy rights. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (this policy), to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise rights, contact us via synthemo.com.

8. Children. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.

9. Security. We use reasonable safeguards — authenticated access, encryption in transit, and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes. We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be noticed in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
